Obituary for Phyllis Johnston
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our loving mom and grandma on September 6, 2011 in Moose Jaw, SK. Phyllis was born on December 25, 1923 in Miami, MB. She will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Rhonda Johnston and Brenda Lawrence (Myles); two grandchildren, Jennifer McLean (Jason) and Cordell Lawrence; her brothers, Garnett Irwin (Heather), Lawrence Irwin (Fran), Raymond Irwin (Audrey) and many nieces and nephews that were all very special to her. Our mom and grandma loved her family more than anything. She was always there for us as a loving mom and grandma but most of all as a friend. Over the years we shared so many special times together and our memories of treasured family traditions will live on with us forever in our hearts and souls. The love and support she gave to her family has made us who we are today and because of this we will be able to continue on with love in our hearts. We love and miss you Grandma. “I will always be close by, just talk to me. I’ll be listening and watching.” The family would like to thank the staff at Moose Jaw Union Hospital, Dr. Geyer, and nurses (especially Larai) for their compassion and care. A private family celebration of life will take place at a later dater. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 0R3. Arrangements are entrusted to Parkview Funeral Chapel. Blair Scott, Funeral Director.
