Obituary for Ileen Ridley
Ileen passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 8th, 2011 at Extendicare in Moose Jaw at the age of 79. Predeceased by her husband Norman, son Robert, and by her parents Catherine and Joseph Shepley. She is survived by her loving daughter Bonnie (Brian Bagu), cherished grandson Bryson, sister Margaret Collins (Hal) of Markham, ON., brother Charles Shepley (Ann Marie), of Wasaga Beach, ON., sister Lynda Yestreau (Harry), of Winnipeg MB., sisters in-law Margaret Shepley (Jack), Margaret Bullock (George) and Jean Ridley (Bill), all of Moose Jaw, and by many nieces nephews and friends, including Stella-Mae and Jessica Harder and long-time friend Mavis Graham. Ileen was born on the family farn near Boharm, SK., to Joseph and Catherine Shepley on October 25th, 1931. She attended school in Boharm and then later on in Moose Jaw at Central Collegiate. She met and married Norman in the early 50’s and the couple began their family in Moose Jaw. Ileen became gravely ill by 1970 she had a strong faith in God and a survivors spirit which gave her the strength to persevere many episodes and recurrences over the last 40 years. Her passion for family and friends preserved her through the difficult times. She loved animals and spending time with her family, playing bingo and enjoying other social activities. She found it difficult to get out to church, but loved spending time reading God’s word, especially the Psalms. Family and friends are invited to Parkview Funeral Chapel for a time of visitation and reflection on Wednesday, January 12th, 2011 from 2-4 pm and 7-9 p.m. A graveside service at Rosedale Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
