Obituary for Angus Bowlby
Passed away on Monday, November 22nd, 2010 at the Moose Jaw Union Hospital. Claire, predeceased by his beloved wife Edith in 1984, and by Alma in 2004, by his son Ted in 1971, four brothers and one sister, including a twin brother at birth. Loved father of Alvin Bowlby (Marlene), Georgina Nelson (Lyle), Mary-Ellen Schniekart (Murray). Grandchildren Calvin (Peggy), Tamara, Jason (Linda), Matthew, Lori (Gavin), and Shane (Jolene); great-grandchildren Curtis, Amanda, Micaela, Brogan, Tristan, and Kyra; four step-children Elwyn Probert (Virginia), Doreen Pawson (Dave), Harvey Probert (Marnie), Bev Loustel (Alan), and all of their children. Claire was born on the family farm near Imperial, SK to Edward and Myrtle Bowlby on February 4th, 1918. He married Edith (Tannahill) in 1941, and the couple settled in Hearne, SK where Claire worked at the Claybank Brick Plant until his retirement in 1982. Following Edith’s passing in 1984, Claire moved to Moose Jaw in 1986. There he met and married Alma Probert. They enjoyed wintering in the U.S. and travelled a fair bit until poor health restricted them. Claire enjoyed carpet bowling, gardening, growing flowers, and really enjoyed coffee with his friends and family. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 27th, 2010 at 2:00 pm at Parkview Funeral Chapel, 474 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw, SK. Interment with Edith at Sunset Cemetery will take place at a later date, to be determined in the spring.
